There’s no business like SHOW BUSINESS

AFRICAN MIRROR 11

This is the only industry on the planet that employs virtually every facet of human ability and endeavour, and in numbers.

The by-product of this massive business is Entertainment. A clutch of well-made local movies and Charlize Theron’s success at the Oscar’s have done much to throw the spotlight on this part of the world. She has not only done South Africa’s image the world of good, but has also raised the bar in the film industry.

Charlize was born in Benoni, South Africa on 7 August, 1975. Awesome talent and good genes have made her one of the busiest actors in Hollywood today, also one of the top earners. Many worthwhile causes have benefitted enormously from her patronage, including the film industry.

She is one of 26 celebrities selected to get a star along Hollywood Boulevard in 2006.

Along with an Oscar and a Golden Globe for her lead performance in “Monster,” as well as a SAG Award, an Independent Spirit Award, the National Society of Film Critics Award and several other accolades, she is fast gaining superstar status.

Ms Theron won’t be joining the Homecoming Revolution any time soon…
